Few situations are as difficult and terrifying as being homeless. And being a person with a disability makes the prospect of homelessness even more overwhelming. If you are an individual with a disability or have a family member with a disability, we can help.

CILO provides crisis intervention to individuals with disabilities who are presently homeless, leaving an abusive home environment, or leaving a nursing facility.

CILO is committed to helping individuals with disabilities out of homelessness and into a stabilized environment. If you or someone you know is homeless or about to become homeless, please contact us immediately.

We can help you with:

• Transportation to an emergency shelter
• Personal care assistance while in an emergency shelter
• Information and direction to disability related support & programs, vocational rehabilitation, and credit counseling services
• Assistance in identifying eligibility requirements for income supplements, Social Security income, food stamps, and medical support

CILO can assist you in securing employment by providing you with four key services:

• Employability Assessment to identify what type of work or training suits you best
• Job Matching Referral to find available work that matches your skills and experience
• Skills Development and Enhancement resources
• Entrepreneurial Training to assist you in starting and running your own business

CILO offers assistance to individuals with disabilities and their families who are homeless to secure permanent housing. We can help you establish eligibility to obtain subsidized housing, Section 8 housing, and other applicable housing programs. In addition, CILO's Permanent Housing Program provides limited deposit assistance and rental subsidies.

Our Homeless Housing Services are tailored to meet the individual needs of each participant or family.  We also offer workshops on “Tenant Rights” and “How to Be a Good Tenant” to help increase the likelihood of maintaining a permanent home.
